WILDLIFE REHABILITATION
As a part of Palm Plaza Pet Hospital's commitment to compassionate animal care, we are working in conjunction with the Tehachapy Wildlife and Education Center to provide care and rehabilitation for our local wildlife. Palm Plaza has dedicated a specific area of our pet hospital which includes special equipment and facilities to care for wildlife which is completely separated from our small animal and pet care facilities.
We are in desperate need of financial donations for care and medication to support our wildlife rehabilitation program. We are also in need of equipment donations as well, so please contact us at (661) 272-4551 to help.
Seen above is one of the bobcat kittens found in a local adult school is seen here getting a preliminary physical exam by Dr. Rosenaur before being reunited with the rest of his family. It's important to remember that that it is illegal to keep or attempt to rehabilitate wildlife without special federal and state permits. At Palm Plaza Pet Hospital we have trained professionals who are qualified experts in wildlife rehabilitation.
Here Are Some Of Our Success Stories!
This Mama Duck and her ducklings were found walking the sidewalk of busy Palmdale Blvd.
With the help of some Good Samaritans and the staff, we were able to catch them all and release them in a proper undisclosed safe location.
A family of wild bobcats were found in a local adult school. These bobcats where severely underweight due to the mother being so young and having multiple kittens.
The Mother and kittens where released back into the wild at a private 600-acre ranch where food and water was plentiful and where they can live a long happy life in the wild.
The Mother Bobcat is seen here being released back into the wild, after being found at a local school with her cubs.
This is a litter of baby raccoons that where found wondering around alone. These 3 little girls are still being cared for at Palm Plaza Pet Hospital.
Once they are old enough and able to find food on their own, they will be released back into the wild.
Here is Rana feeding a baby Mocking bird that one of our client's cat brought in as a present.
This
mocking bird will be released as soon as it can feed himself and
find food. He will be released into a 2.5 acre yard with plenty of
food and birdhouses so he can live a long happy life.
Alyssa is feeding a orphan starling that was found in a rubble of tree branches that where trimmed in a local park.
Alex the baby humming bird, who was released early in the summer of 2009.
