Michael A. Johnson, DVM

Dr. Johnson & "Kremlin"

Dr. Johnson was raised in the Midwest.  In 1977, he graduated with a B.S. degree in Microbiology from Michigan State University.  Dr. Johnson received his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University, graduating with honors, in 1981.  That same year, he moved to the Merrimack Valley and practiced Veterinary Medicine at the Andover Animal Hospital from 1981 to 1993 when he left to join the Plaistow Animal Medical Center until 1995.  Dr. Johnson then opened his own clinic, the Johnson Veterinary Hospital, which has been located in Lawrence since 1995.  Dr. Johnson and his wife enjoy their 2 dachshunds named Kremlin & Marka, and Penelope, a cat with plenty of “attitude”.

Dr. Mikkola graduated from the University of Michigan in 1995, with degrees in both Biology and Bio-Psychology.  She graduated with honors from Michigan State College of Veterinary Medicine in May, 2000. For two years, Dr. Mikkola practiced small animal medicine in Ann Arbor, Michigan and then in Wells, Maine, before joining the Johnson Veterinary Hospital in January of 2003.  She has a strong interest in surgery and internal medicine.  While attending veterinary college, she was the captain of the MSU women’s ice hockey team, and continues to play with a co-ed league out of Boston.  Dr. Mikkola’s interests include hiking and almost every outdoor sport.  She lives on the outskirts of Boston with her husband Matt, her hairless cats Bella & Dante, and the newest additions to her family, two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels named Charlie and Dodger.
