T.P.L.O. stands for "Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy".  Dr. Michael Johnson has received certification in this specialized surgery which involves removing the torn ends of the "cruciate ligament" (somewhat like your dog's "knee") and examining the "medial and lateral meniscus cartilages".  If a tear is found, the damaged part of the knee is removed by making a curved cut in the top of the tibia bone "osteotomy" to include the "tibial plateau". The dashed line denotes the top of the "tibial plateau" which is then rotated along the curved "osteotomy" in order to level the slope. A plate and screws are used to hold the tibial plateau in place so that the bone can heal well and your dog can regain his full range of motion.

Every day a beloved family pet is lost.  Tragically, most never make it back home because their owners didn't identify them.  The MicroChip is the professional way to identify your pet and is proven safe and effective.  A tiny MicroChip that contains a personal identification number distinguishes your pet as a special member of your family.  The MicroChip is so tiny that it fits through a hypodermic needle.  Just like a vaccination, it is injected under the skin of your pet where it remains safely for life.  This inexpensive procedure can be done anytime and protects virtually any pet in your household.

Using a state-of-the-art device called a Tonopen,

we are able to accurately measure your pet’s

intraocular pressure with this quick, painless procedure.

We use this diagnostic test any time we have a patient

with a “red eye” and for glaucoma screening tests.

When it comes to extending the quantity and quality of your pet's life, we believe that regular dental care is second only to good nutrition in degree of importance. Bacteria that live in the tartar on your pet's teeth produce toxins that are absorbed into the blood, and slowly damage your pet's kidneys and liver.  Through regular dental exams, ultrasonic, and polishing, the bacteria are minimized, and your pet's life is enhanced and extended.
