This is Madison on vacation at the Bluefin Bay in Tofte MN up on the north shore. She had a great time. Madison has been a patient for all her life (over 10 years) and I have been brining my pets there for about 23 years.  Thanks and wanted to share Madison's vacation!

Our very first dog is Sophie. A black and white Italian Greyhound. We got her from the Human Society when she was 10 months old. Neither my husband or myself had ever had a dog before, so this was quite the experience! We were not even planning on getting a dog when we went to the Human Society, we planned on getting a kitten. But there was something about her that drew us in. She is very scared and has a lot of anxiety problems. Not sure what her first 10 months of her life were like… that could have something to do with her problems. But she loves us to death. When we leave for an hour and come home it is like having a homecoming after being gone for a year. She is really sweet and I love her to death!! Quite hard to train though! These dogs can jump so far and so high! And to get Sophie to sit is impossible!

Trudy is our second dog. What on earth was I thinking!! I saw her in the mall pet store. I always go in there to look at the animals – because I am an animal lover – but I always told myself I would never buy anything from this store. I wanted to always get my animals from Human Societies, not animal stores. But when I saw Trudy… she was so frightened and all bones, she even had poop all over her. I asked to hold her – poop and all – and I said to her – I’m gonna get you out of here. She did not want to let me go. I called my husband and begged and pleaded. I even had to text him a picture of her (because he was at work). I bought her right then and there. She is also an Italian Greyhound. Sophie did not know what to think when I brought Trudy home. She was four months old and Sophie was at least 2 years old by now. Trudy rules the house. She has really packed on the pounds and has filled out nicely! Sophie is very skinny, but she has always been that way, and the breed is suppose to be thin and muscular. Trudy has learned to sit and stay, and to play catch. They both love us to death. My husband and I used to work opposite shifts and it was so lonely at home. Well not anymore! When I walk in that door there are two dogs that are more happy to see me than any human being could ever be. And I love them for that!

Billi because he was our first pet in our new home. We have been here for four years now and our family keeps getting bigger! We got Bill at a shelter. He was such a lover that there was no way I could walk out of there without him. I have no idea how old he is… we have had him for three years now. He is quite a ham, and sheds like there is not tomorrow! But we would do anything for him. He sometimes sits at the bedroom door and wakes me up very early because he is ready to go outside! It is like we are his doorman! He will go in and out 15 times just in the morning. He loves to be outside. He loves the garden and rolls in the dirt, scratches his back on my rose bushes, and in the hot summer he lays under the raspberry bushes for shade. He has a collar on him in case anything should happen. We call him Billi because that is the word for cat in Bangla. My husband is from Bangladesh so we call him Billi. It shoulds just like Bill but with a long I sound at the end.

Thank you for all that you do for my family, they are very dear to us. God Bless You!

Our thanks to April Rabbie for these wonderful photos!

Natalie is a Jack Russell Terrier born October 17th, 2002.  Natalie is one of the most outgoing dogs I have ever met.  She loves to make new friends, person or animal!

Sadie is another Jack Russell Terrier who was born May 17th, 2007.  Shes a little shy, but she's the biggest 'lover' once you get to know her!

Harley is our spoiled 'baby'.  He is a Chihuahua who was born December 17th, 2007.  He is a momma's boy who doesn't mind letting everyone know it!

Stella (who is sold) & Bandit.  They are offspring from Natalie born on September 6th, 2008.  Bandit loves to play catch and cuddle on the couch!

Meet GIZMO who was adopted a year ago this month from a shelter in Buffalo!  Gizmo is known as our "Houdini" as he can escape from any kennel enclosure!  Seriously, for the first few months I thought maybe we'd made a mistake, as the guy got out of not only plastic enclosures, but also wire ones, bending back the little metal bars and squeezing his thin frame through - he's quite amazing!!

Our thanks to Debra Metcalf for this great photo!

Here's "Max" celebrating his 14th birthday with lots of festivities including party hats!

Max and his little sister, "Maddie", a schnauzer have been patients at Granite City Pet Hospital since they were just pups.

"Maddie" thought the best thing about the birthday party were the "Frosty Paws" served, which are a special ice cream made just for dogs.  As you can see, she made sure she got every bite of her serving, but she was ready for seconds right away!

The Clark family pets have been visiting Granite City Pet Hospital for the past 23 years.  Here are "Neelix" and "Garak" who are current members of the Clark household.  Neelix is a platinum mink Tonkinese and Garak was given to the Clark family by one of Granite City's veterinary techs, so that he could have a good home. Garak promptly became the "alpha" leader, but as you can see, Neelix and Garak are good buddies!
