LUCAS THOMI, DVM
Owner of Companion Animal Hospital
Dr. Thomi is the owner of Companion Animal Hospital, bring with him over 9 years experience in many aspects of veterinary medicine. He graduated from Colorado State University and specializes in exotics, small animals, wild life, and also practices large animal medicine. He is certified in veterinary acupunture and alternative therapies. He has much experience in advanced orthopedic and soft tissue surgery including spine and thoracic surgery, total hip replacements, Tibial Tuberosity Advancement, and is certified in Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy.
Dr. Thomi volunteers many hours in our Helena community, speaking to local schools and 4-H groups, donating surgery and medical care to our local shelter and rescue groups, and his hospital has become a refuge for difficult to place animals with very serious injuries.
Dr. Thomi lives with his son, Oliver, his daughter, Sophia, and his significant other, Jennifer. Their family also include 2 dogs, 1 cat, a lizard, rabbits, and various rescued animals from the Fish, Wildlife and Parks work for which he donates his time and expertise.
Dr. Lucas Thomi
DON PERINNE, DVM
Dr. Perinne joined Companion Animal Hospital in 2004, bringing with him 20 years of veterinary experience. Dr. Perinne earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University. His special interests lie in advanced surgery, particularly orthopedic, reconstructive, emergency and soft tissue surgery. He is certified in Total Hip Replacement, Tibial Tuberosity Advancement, Advanced Bone Plating, and specializes in difficult fracture repairs.
He receives referrals from other veterinarians around our state for these advances surgeries. Dr. Perinne also does a lot of work with the Fish, Wildlife and Parks on wild animals, donating his time and expert surgery skills to help rehabilitate many wild animals. One of his specialties is wild bears, and he recently went to China to donate surgery for bears at a wild refuge.
During his spare time he enjoys fly fishing and fly tying, and camping. He has 2 sons, Taylor and Weston, and a daughter, Ellie. He also has 2 Golden Retrievers.
